First, just to clarify, the last two posts were placed yesterday (Saturday, August 9) not today. Our computer is set to Eastern Standard Time and we tend to post here later in the evenings, so the time is sometimes off.
Yesterday, after we left Kevin and Catherine's house, we stopped at several campgrounds looking for a spot. Everyone was booked. We briefly considering a ratty motel room at the base of the mountain along Boulder Creek, but we just couldn't do it. The room was fairly clean but smelled funny, and the decor was likely unchanged for the past 30 years or so. On we went to Boulder for dinner, and had a great time walking along Pearl Street. It was much more, um, interesting than it was the last time we were there. Lots of street performers and unique individuals wandering about. There were several outdoor play areas to occupy the kids, which was nice.
We are leaving our hotel, going to Whole Foods (finally, we found a Whole Foods...no-one in Kansas knew what I was talking about), then we are camping tonight at Rocky Mountain National Park. We won't be able to post here again until tomorrow night at the earliest.

You brought back a fun memory for me. We camped in the Rocky Mountain National Park when we went out west with the girls. We suggested that they each pick out a pretty rock from the stream to take home. Minutes later I looked out the window of our VW van to see Carrie rolling a VERY large pink rock up the hill. We kept it for years as the Tooth Fairy Rock; in fact, I think she still has it.
Camping in the park sounds much better than that stinky room.
